Alexa & Nicky | Married

Alexa and Nicky were one of the first couples to book under Lumin Images.  Lindsey and I met with Alexa and her matron of honor, Despina, in Cleveland for coffee and conversation regarding her summer wedding.

The Samonas' wedding was filled with beautiful details, tradition, and love!  It was a great learning opportunity for me from the wedding ceremony preparation, to the Greek mass and many traditional reception events.

I conquered a fear with this wedding - it had the largest bridal party I had ever shot (42, not including the little kiddos!), and I was nervous about our timing.  Everyone was so kind, willing to listen, and pose for the photos for Alexa and Nicky that everything ended up working out great and we had more time than we expected for their bridal portraits.

The Abram Family

Lesson learned from my shoot with the beautiful Abram family!  Picking a location ahead of time is necessary, but it's also important to show up early and scout out the area.

We were originally supposed to meet at Squires Castles in Willoughby Hills, but upon my arrival I saw how unexpectedly busy the area was on this particular evening.  I knew I had a toddler and a dog coming to the shoot and having a lot of distractions was really going to work against me.  I took some time and drove around the area searching for other beautiful backdrops.  Luckily, I came across this field of wild flowers just a minute down the road.  The yellows help to break up all of the summery greens and add some dimension to the photos.

Thanks to Janice and Kyle (and Grayson and Charlie!) for being willing to change locations in the last minute so we could have a more peaceful experience!

Breanne & Matthew | Married

As soon as I met Bre and Matt at their Engagement Session I knew that I was going to love working with them!  These two were so easy-going and took direction very well.  They posed naturally, and their interactions made for beautiful photos.

Their wedding day was just the same - the timeline was perfect, the details were flawless and the love was absolutely delightful.  Congratulations to such a happy couple!

Porter David | 6 Months

Sarah & Dave hired me to capture both 6 month and 1 year (+ some family shots!) photos of their handsome son, Porter David.  They took advantage of my Lifestyle Life Stages packaging and booked both sessions together.

Porter is such a happy little dude, and although we took pictures on one of the hottest and most muggy evenings of the summer, he was a happy camper and shared a plethora of adorable facial expressions with us.

I cannot wait until I get to work with this cute little man again in February to celebrate his 1st birthday!

Allow Me to Introduce Myself

We all have a passion...we may not realize it today, it may not even hit us in the next 10 years, but the hope is that at some point everyone finds something that makes them feel purposeful, at peace, and like they have reason.

Photography is not my passion.

Surprised to read that on a photographer's blog?  Well, it's true!  I love it.  I enjoy learning about it, working with my clients, and improving my skills with every single session.  It is something that fills so much of my time, yet I never get bored with it, but my passion goes a little bit deeper.

My passion is memories, and photography is my means of collecting them.

I am in love with the idea of taking moments in time, ages, looks, haircuts and smiles and freezing them to be shared both in the immediate, and years from today.

Being a collector of memories (unofficial title!) is something that I’ve always strived for.  I’ve taken thousands of pictures, shots hours of video, and compiled hundreds of slideshows, highlight videos, collages and scrapbooks.  I can’t explain the drive to do so, but the sense of achievement I find when a project is complete is absolutely fulfilling.

So, as a memory keeper (unofficial title #2!) I’ve been doing what I can to take on more, expand my knowledge, and become more proficient in my trait.  The photo above was really the “aha moment” of my career as a Professional Photographer (actual title).  The recognition of my talent was brought to light - I’ve always had people in my corner, telling me I was good enough, pushing me to keep going, and supporting me beyond belief.  My family and friends have always had my back and kept me moving forward, and although their backing means the world, it wasn’t until I received outside approval that I really felt like I had made it.  More on that photo to come…but for now, thank you for visiting my site, following my work, and sharing in my passion.

Let the journey begin!
